ABOUT ME

I am a 26 years old Interaction Design MA student at Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design in Budapest, Hungary. In this programme, we are studying all the key fundementals of creating digital services, from research to create a high-fidelity prototype.

I graduated as a industrial design engineer for my bachelors. It is a key element for this profession to be able to make a connection between the customer and our product. I think interaction design has quite the same intentions as well, just in a different space. However, it is pretty obvious in my opinion, that the future holds the most opportunities in this field of expertise.

I switched to interaction design, because in the digital world you can be creative with almost no limits. Product designers have to face many factors which force them to differ from their original concepts. With digital technology there are less and less boundaries and more opportunities. However, it also means there is always something new to the people to keep up with, and that is why I think interaction design is important. I want to keep people connected with the constantly developing technology, to make them see the opportunities in it instead of the concerns.

Presence from the Beginning

As designers, it is important to stay up to date with the latest social and technological changes. One of our most important tasks is to keep abreast of developments, examine the opportunities they offer, and consider how we can transform them to benefit society.

Extend Knowledge

While studying product- and interaction design, I realized that we not only need to be knowledgeable, but also cover several fields at once. In order to design products that are not only aesthetic but also practical and functional, we need to understand the mechanics behind them. That is why I believe it is important for designers to be well informed about all areas of the industry.

Experts

Involve Experts

Although we need to be well informed in several areas, this does not mean that we have to be experts in all of them and do everything ourselves. It is important to work with experts in each field because we cannot replace them, but we can use their ideas to make our concepts functioning and usable. We, as designers, need to bring these different experts together and incorporate their knowledge into our products.

Timelessly
Design Timelessly

Design Timelessly

Designers should not follow current trends, but design for the long term. In my opinion, the right approach is to draw inspiration from concepts that have been with us for a long time and examine why they are still relevant. Obviously, we can only get inspired from the past, however we must always plan one step ahead and consider possibilities that do not exist yet, but may become reality in the future.

Clarity
Clarity over Spectacle

Clarity over Spectacle

Working as designers, it is difficult not to get lost in aesthetics, by polishing our concept's looks and style to perfection, or to force our artistic vision too much into our projects. However, I think that sometimes it is important to take a step back from it and reconsider if it actually benefits the usability of the product, and it doesn't make it more complicated.
